-     Show them the “Insy Winsy Spider” video.
-     Sing the “Insy Winsy Spider” song.
-     Ask some children one by one to be the boss and sing the song with the other children.

Focus activity:
-          Let the children cutout the body of the spider and glue the legs of it. Then have them place their hands in red, green, white and black paints and stamp them  on the spider legs printable.  You can have the children use wiggly eyes to make eyes. At the end let them decorate their spiders as they want.

This is a literacy lesson that had a creative art activity and play. At the beginning of the lesson, reviewed with them the words that start with the sound S. They start giving me some words like spider, star, spoon, snake and sun. I introduced some more words for them from the PowerPoint and I asked the children one by one to name choose a picture and name it. After that, I played the video song for them and I encouraged them to sing it with each other by letting one of them the leader.

During the focus activity, I provided the appropriate materials for the children to create a hand print spider. They were very creative while they were doing the activity. This is because of that they choose different paint colors to print by their fingers as well as different designing with glitters.
